Fabio Viale

Fabio Viale, a contemporary Italian sculptor based in Turin, is renowned for his innovative reinterpretation of marble. Trained at the Accademia Albertina, he has redefined the boundaries of traditional sculpture.
His international fame was established with « Ahgalla » a floating marble boat exhibited in several European cities. Viale has showcased his work in prestigious institutions worldwide, including the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow and the Museo del Novecento in Milan.
One of his most remarkable creations is « Laocoon », unveiled in Munich, which reimagines the ancient sculptural group by incorporating engraved and colored tattoos on white marble. This bold approach blends classical aesthetics with modern symbols.
His participation in the Venice Biennale further cemented his international reputation. Viale’s works, often tattooed or inspired by everyday objects, explore the fusion of tradition and modernity, pushing the technical limits of sculpture. His unique vision and exceptional mastery of marble make him a pivotal figure in contemporary art.
