Simon Berger creates photorealistic portraits and sculptures using an unexpected medium: glass.
Originally trained as a carpenter, he later turned to art, exploring various materials, including spray paint. His unique technique involves precisely striking glass with a hammer, creating highly detailed and expressive images. This process, combining destruction and creation, has earned him international recognition. His works have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, notably at the Murano Glass Museum and the Musei Civici in Treviso, Italy. Among his most notable pieces is a shattered glass portrait of U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, displayed on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., in 2021.
